Summer camp for Boys
Thirteen young men recently received essential life skills
at the first ever Belmont Estate Boys' Summer Camp.
For the past three years, Belmont has organised a summer school
for the children of its employees and the surrounding communities.
This year, however, a decision was taken to focus only on young
men between the ages of 12 to 18 as it was felt that they are
becoming marginalised in society.
From July 11-18, the young men were exposed to
sessions on self-esteem and empowerment, making wise decisions,
leadership skills and career planning.
New look for museum
In attempt to
preserve its exhibits and create a better experience for visitors
the museum is currently being re-organised. It is hoped that the
new layout would provide a better understanding of Belmont's
history and its role in Grenada.
We are sure that our guests would be
pleased to know that a number of the items on display are now
better protected. In addition, a number new items are now
available for viewing.
This re-organisation is part of a development
process which would include the restocking and organising of the
gift and the addition of a very more attractions.
