In
2001, Belmont encouraged the revival of kite making and
flying within its surrounding communities with the introduction of
a kite competition.
Held every Easter Monday, the competition brings together
employees and their families and friends for a day of fun, music
and games.
Registration for the competition is free and all prizes are
donated by the company. The categories for judging are kite of the
day, ugliest kite, most creative kite, biggest kite,
smallest kite, highest flying kite, oldest kite flyer and youngest
kite flyer.
For the three years the competition has
attracted kite flyers from the age of 10 months to 85 years from
both sexes. |
